As you can see I still don’t have that review of Liquid Story Binder XE, but I do have an update on my last post. Please bare with me if you are waiting on the review. I promise I am working on it, but there has been a lot going on the past few days that has kept me from getting much writing done.
Friday I had a really bad day. I woke up with a crippling headache and called in sick to work. I work for an Internet Service Provider (ISP) as a Systems Administrator. In short, I take care of all the computers that serve up the different services that we provide to our customers. After calling in sick, I get a phone call at around 8:00AM (the time I’m usually sitting at my desk). We had some major email issues, and I’m pretty much the only one that can get them fixed when it’s really bad. I worked on it from home for a little while, but ultimately got called in to work, headache and all.
After finally getting everything working again, I left the office around 2:30PM in the middle of a storm producing 80 mile per hour winds. I got out of downtown Conway before it flooded so bad I couldn’t drive, trust me it happens. I couldn’t, however, get all the way home with the wind blowing the way it was, so I pulled off in the Hastings parking lot. For those who don’t know, Hastings is like a small Barnes and Nobel that is local to Arkansas. I’m fairly certain that the franchise is limited to this state. Being the lover of books that I am, I decided to brave the rain and run inside to wait out the storm.
While I was inside, I shopped around a bit. On one of the first center aisle stands loaded with books I spotted a stack of Strange Angels copies and I couldn’t resist picking one up along with another book I picked up by Laurell K. Hamilton on the clearance rack. I now have a copy of Strange Angels that I can’t wait to start reading, and I will be reviewing it on here as soon as I get finished. The other book, Strange Candy, is a collection of Laurell K. Hamilton’s short fiction. I picked it up to study some short stories, so I could start writing more of my own (and who could resist a $5.00 hardback).
